About Us

What are we trying to do?

For years psychologists have used “trust games” to investigate what spurs good and bad behavior in people. They believe - "When you sell me something I want and trust me to pay, not looking at all whether I have paid or not, you’ve made my life good in two ways: I get something delicious, and I also get a good feeling about myself. Both of these things make me feel good about the world - that I'm in a good place. I see you as a contributor to that realization - as somebody I want to reward. It’s a win-win situation for both sides."

At Honour Till, we want to spread this simple message of honesty!

Our aim is to inculcate honesty and trustworthiness in children, using a practical approach. As part of the program, unmanned counters are set up within school premises with stationary and general utility items for students. We provide these products at MRP rates with no added markup. Purchasing from wholesalers helps us provide students with discounts.

The process requires students to choose what they need from the unmanned counter, figure out what they owe (scratch paper provided), drop money through a slot in the honour box and collect change from the change box.

At Honour Till, we strongly believe that the concept of honesty is best taught by practice. Our mission is to imbibe a sense of honour in every school going child. The till is symbolic, yet an effective learning experience. It has opened up effective conversations on the power of truthfulness and honesty.

So far our message has reached more than 5000 students. In addition to working with students, we have worked with corporates and common people as well.
